A quote with a price and nothing else invites questions later — "I thought that included X" is a much harder conversation once the job's underway than a sentence on the quote would have prevented. A clear scope of works does two things at once: it sets the customer's expectations properly, and it's the thing you point back to if a dispute ever comes up about what was agreed. Neither of those needs marketing language. They need the notes you already made, written out properly.
A worked example
Notes in: "rewire kitchen ring, 2 new sockets by island, new consumer unit, 2 days, cert included." Paragraph out: "This work covers a full rewire of the kitchen ring main, including two new sockets fitted at the island, and replacement of the consumer unit. The job is expected to take two working days, and a signed electrical certificate is included on completion." Same information, but written the way a homeowner would want to read it before they sign.
What this isn't

It won't invent a price, a warranty period or a start date that wasn't in your notes, but it also won't catch it if your notes themselves were wrong or incomplete.
